Thanks to a grant from GreaterGood.org funded by the iHeartDogs.com community, Fella came to the Humane Society of Tulsa in December 2018 as part of an 87 dog hoarding case in Spavinaw, OK. In this particular situation 50 large dogs were living inside a single trailer, several puppies, and then a handful of dogs living in the backyard. Fella was wearing a harness, attached to a clothesline and living his life outside without a family to call his own.
Upon rescue, Fella arrived on transport at the Animal Protective Association (APA) in St. Louis with the hopes that he would find a forever home where he could live inside as a pet – instead of out in the elements. Fella found his forever home two weeks after his arrival, and his new family posted on the APA Facebook page that they have renamed him Rockey and love him very much. Among the photos posted, one was Fella on the couch – snuggled in, and in another photo, he is out playing in the snow! This guy got so lucky where he now has the OPPORTUNITY to go outside, instead of living his entire life there.
You can be a part of stories like Fella’s when you shop from the Second Chance Movement collection in the iHeartDogs store! The Second Chance Movement funds organizations that move pets from high-risk shelters to rescues where they have all the time they need to find a home!
